Hoffmier, 'Genesee John'

05/14/1942 - 06/04/2013

John has joined his son Johnny and many others in heaven. He is survived by his wife and best friend, Lil (Spoonhower) Hoffmier; his daughter, Jody (Ted) Keener; his son, Jacob Hoffmier and his wonderful grandchildren! John is also survived by many, many family and friends that meant the world to him. He served in the US Army during the Viet Nam War, stationed in Germany. For more than 40 years, he was a local contractor. He loved hunting with his buddies and family; was a great race car driver and in recent years he especially loved watching his nephews race. John and Jacob enjoyed restoring several old cars together. John was one of those people that you couldn't help but fall in love with and he will always live on in our hearts. Family and friends are invited to call at the MacPherson Funeral Home, Newark Valley, on Thursday, June 6 from 5-8 PM. A celebration of his life and funeral service will be held there on Friday at 10 AM followed by burial in Evergreen Cemetery, Berkshire where full Military Honors will be accorded. Friends wishing, may kindly direct memorials to Lourdes Hospice, 4102 Old Vestal Road, Vestal NY 14850 in loving memory of John H. Hoffmier. Memories and condolences to his family may be written in his guest book at macphersonfh.com
