John Vajay Obituary

Vajay, John P.

John P. Vajay, 95, died peacefully and went to his eternal rest on Wednesday, August 22, 2012. He was predeceased by his parents, John and Ludmilla Vajay. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Evelyn; his daughter and son-in-law, Gail and Bob Cline; his son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Diane Vajay; his grandchildren, Cindy and Andy Grospin, Kim and Mark Maietta, Jeff and Tracey Vajay; his great-grandchildren, Tara Grospin, Brooke and Kaylee Maietta; his sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Tony Vlasak; and several special nieces and nephews. John worked at the Endicott Johnson Shoe Factory for 42 years. He was church organist for John Hus Presbyterian Church for 55 years, and he also played with an orchestra called Swinging Seniors. He also played at several senior citizen centers until the age of 90. John and Evelyn enjoyed 50 years with all their closest friends at a special camp in Greene called Stonehenge. Music and spending time with family is what mattered most to John. He will be dearly missed by all his loving family. We're very grateful for the loving care he received from the nurses and aides at the Good Shepherd Village at Endwell. The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 25 from 10-11 a.m. at the John Hus Presbyterian Church at 47 Glenwood Ave., Binghamton, NY. The Memorial Service will be held immediately following at 11:00. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the Alzheimer's Association or the John Hus Presbyterian Church. Arrangements are by Bednarsky Funeral Home, Inc.
