John Russell Palmiter, 48 went unexpectedly to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, March 28, 2013 at his home in Vestal, NY. John was born on Christmas Eve, 1964 and was truly a gift from God. He is survived by parents Duane Sr. and Virginia Palmiter; wife of 18 years Carol (Maui) Palmiter, cherished son, Christian Palmiter; brothers Duane Jr. (Lisa) and children AJ, Dylan, Jourden, Stephanie and Danielle; David (Deborah) Palmiter and children Matthew, Andrew; along with his aunt Helen Cole, cousins Russ and Chris Charlier and families. John graduated from Owego Free Academy in 1984 and the Culinary Institute in Hyde Park, NY in 1988. He was Director of Operations for AFV at the B.C. Arena and his gift of cooking was enjoyed by all who knew him. John had a generous and loving spirit and his enthusiasm was contagious. He could make friends instantly. He was a devoted father, husband and friend. John lived his faith and life to the fullest. He will be missed dearly. A Memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday April 6, 2013 at Ross Corners Baptist Church, In Vestal New York. The family will receive friends from 9 AM till the time of the service. Burial will be at the convenience of the Family at a later date.
