Joseph M. Juriga
of Binghamton
Joseph M. Juriga, 28, of Binghamton, unexpectedly left us on Monday, November 2, 2009. He is survived by his loving family: his parents, Teresa (DeRitis) and Samuel Juriga; brothers, Jonathan and Matthew; sisters, Jessica, Gina and Kathryn; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends. Joe was born on April 9, 1981 in Binghamton and resided in Florida for many years. He is a graduate of Chenango Forks High School and SUNY New Paltz where he graduated summa cum laude. Joe will be remembered for his warmth, sense of humor, creative talent, curiosity, and love of life. He was usually making people laugh, playing lacrosse, playing/enjoying music, or designing something unique. Over the past few months, Joe was a devoted caregiver to his father while he recovered from a bone marrow transplant. Above all, Joe was a great friend and inspiration to many; he will be missed beyond description.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate Joe's life at a Memorial Mass at 10 a.m. on Saturday, November 7, 2009, at St. Francis of Assisi Church, Hillcrest, NY. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in memory of Joe may be made to the American Cancer Society and/or The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Arrangements are by the James V. DeMarco & Son Funeral Home, 737 Chenango St., Port Dickinson, NY.

Joe's memory will be alive in the hearts of those he inspired, laughed, and befriended. He and I worked closely together in 2006-2008 in the Advertising Federation of Ft. Lauderdale. We had a blast together and he was a great leader, teacher and friend. Joe, I miss you buddy. Rest in Peace and I'm happy you got to see Phish one last time.

I have many fond memories of Joey from high school art class.. Although he was a grade below me, he was a very talented artist. I send my prayers and thoughts to the family at this very sad time.. His life was way too short!! But just know that God has a plan for him and this may give your family comfort.. He was such a great person and great to be around.. I only knew Joe briefly, but in that time I found him to be a very genuine and "real" person. His passion for his craft was obvious and he was held in very high regard by his peers. I never saw him when he didn't have a smile on his face and a friendly comment. He will be missed by all of us in the Advertising Federation.
