Licastri, Louise Frances

Binghamton: Louise Frances Licastri, 76, former Oneonta resident, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 30, 2013, at Susquehanna Nursing Home in Binghamton. Louise was born in Manhattan on June 29, 1936 to Salvatore and Mary (Sapienza) LoBaido, and grew up on Staten Island where she met her loving and devoted husband of 57 years, Philip Nicholas Licastri. Besides her husband Phil, Louise is survived by her six children and their families, which she loved with all her heart: Joseph and Cheryl Licastri of Liverpool, Maria and Gordon Robst of Oneonta, Katherine and Jeffrey Wood of Endicott, Salvatore Licastri of Philadelphia, PA, Philip and Kathleen LiCastri of Easton, CT, and Vincent and Jill Licastri of Huntersville, NC; eleven grandchildren that she bragged about at every opportunity, Gabrielle and Tamara Licastri of Liverpool, Jesse Robst of Cornelius, NC, Philip Wood of Binghamton, Mollie, Tess, Grace and Bella Licastri of Huntersville, NC, Emmett, Carson, and Keely LiCastri of Easton, CT; and her very special great-granddaughter, Adelynne Mae Licastri of Liverpool. Louise is also survived by her sister, Lenora and Pete Varriano of Staten Island; a brother, Salvatore (Junior) and Karen LoBaido of Staten Island; and many nieces and nephews, who all loved her very much. Louise spent many happy years as a Teacher's Assistant and the ONC BOCES program and Greater Plains School. After retiring from that position, she worked for Opportunities for Otsego at the homeless shelter and with the Violence Intervention Program. Louise was the current Vice President of the Hamilton House Tenant Association, where she and Phil lived happily for the past two years. Louise was loved by everyone who knew her and will be missed by all. Calling hours will be 3 to 5 p.m. Thursday, May 2, 2013 at the Lewis, Hurley & Pietrobono Funeral Home, 51 Dietz St., Oneonta. A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Friday, May 3, 2013, at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Emmons, with Janice Hinkley, Pastoral Care Coordinator at St. Mary's Church, officiating.
