DiRosa, Maria Elvira (Legnini)

Binghamton: Maria Elvira (Legnini) DiRosa, 71, went to be with the Lord Sunday, July 21, 2013. She was predeceased by her parents, Antonio and Assunta Legnini; sister, Eva Capone; father and mother-in-law, Vincenzo and Assuntina DiRosa; brother-in-laws, Mauro Capone and Pasquale Salbucci; nephew, Modesto Legnini; niece, Adrianna DiRosa; great niece, Allessandra Capone. She is survived by her devoted husband of 52 years, Lorenzo DiRosa; her children, Mary Cavanaugh; Franco and Laura DiRosa; Claudio and Michelle DiRosa; her grandchildren who she loved and adored, Christina, Matthew, Gabriella, Marco, Zachary and Izabella; a sister; three brothers; several sister-in-laws and brother-in-laws; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends both here in the US and in Italy. She was a woman of faith and adored the Blessed Virgin Mother. She loved her Italian heritage and traditions. She was a very talented, creative and amazing seamstress. Give her fabric and a sewing machine and she could fix or create anything. She worked for Drazen's, Regina's Furs and Boscov's throughout her career. She enjoyed her walks around the neighborhood, crossword puzzles and spending time with her precious grandchildren. She was a very proud and elegant woman, a compassionate friend, a devoted wife, loving and caring mother and a nurturing and proud nonna. She was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Church and the Women's Abruzzese Club. She will be truly missed and not a day will go by that we will not think of her and treasure the great memories and moments we shared. WE ALL LOVE YOU AND MISS YOU! Thank you for everything! Ti vogliamo molto, molto bene.
