Barron, Olga

Olga Barron, 91, of Endwell/Endicott entered into eternal happiness unexpectedly but peacefully on Monday July 29, 2013. She has joined Joseph, her husband, who predeceased her in 1992 after 51 years of marriage. She was also predeceased by her parents, John & Mary Mosko; her siblings, Mary Powell, Anna Stebela, John Mosko II; and two infant sisters, Helen and Rose. She is survived by two sons and a daughter, Richard (Robin) Barron, Randy Barron, Linda (Dennis) Graham; three grandchildren, Carissa (Ramy) Robinov, Melanie Barron (Chris Ficke), Adam Barron; three great grandchildren, Oriya, David and Hodaya Robinov. She is also survived by two sisters-in-law, Mary Ann Burgher and Olga Baron, along with several nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Olga was a long time member of SS Peter & Paul Byzantine Catholic Church, Endicott, NY and, in later years, Church of the Holy Family, Endwell. She was a resident at Marian Apts. from 1987 until her move to Ideal Senior Living in 2010. Olga's thirst for learning, inquisitive nature, and adventurous spirit lead to many personal accomplishments continuing through her senior years. She embraced new technology completing several computer classes with Southern Tier Senior Net, eventually helping to coach other seniors. Olga loved to read, especially about health and nutrition. Her hobbies included needlepoint, cross stitch, crotchet and craft projects that were lovingly made and given as gifts to family and friends. Olga worked at various jobs throughout her marriage, the last being at the former General Electric in Westover. She was a proud member of the Czechoslovakian - Moravian Club and passed on the richness of her ethnic heritage to her family. She loved to cook and bake and always made family gatherings extra-special. She was grateful to have witnessed and participated in the many activities and accomplishments of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, who were her pride and joy. Olga also enjoyed the company of the numerous family pets. She had a wonderful sense of humor and a fun-loving spirit. The family extends heartfelt gratitude and thanks to Dr. Shawn Berkowitz and the Staff at Ideal Senior Living Center Iris Place for the loving care provided to our Mom. We'd also like to thank Dr. Linda Fort and all of Mom's other healthcare providers throughout the years. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday 11:00 am at the Church of the Holy Family 3600 Phyllis St. Endwell. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Church of the Holy Family on Monday from 10:00 am until time of service.
