George, Rose (Ambrose)

Rose (Ambrose) George, 94, of Endicott, passed away, Monday March 18, 2013. She was predeceased by her parents, Frank and Florence Ambrose; her husband, Mario (Moon) George; her daughter, Donna Lee Wyatt; her grandson, Jeremy Terwilliger; her brothers, Gus (Carmella), Jim (Bernie), Tim (Anne), Mike (Lillian), Johnny, Reese (Audrey) Ambrose. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Janice and Jim Terwilliger; her son-in-law, Tom Wyatt and his wife Judy; her grandchildren, Rebekah Terwilliger, Tom and Michelle Wyatt, Jeffrey and Jennifer Wyatt, Jason Wyatt; great grandchildren, David Terwilliger, Alexandra, Sydney, Cassidy, Jordan, Jacob and Brock Wyatt. Rose lived her whole life on Hill Avenue and could be considered the Matriarch of the street. She loved her home and rose bushes and took great pride in caring for them. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother. Her family was the world to her. She made many memories with holiday dinners with her famous spaghetti sauce. Rose was blessed to have many friends and used to enjoy going to church on Sundays, then breakfast at Friendly's, then over to her daughters for coffee where they all seem to talk at the same time and not listen, but no one seemed to care. Rose spent her last year at Absolut Care in Endicott with their caring staff. This is where she met her roommate, Sarah Major, who was like a sister to her, that she always wished she had. I love you, Mom. I know you're with your Mom and everyone in Heaven now. A Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, 6 PM at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 306 Odell Ave., Endicott, with the Rev. James P. Serowik, officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery at the convenience of the family. The family will receive friends at St. Anthony's Church on Thursday, from 4 PM until time of mass at 6 PM. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in her memory, may be made to either, Meals of Wheels of Western Broome, 705 West Main St., Endicott, NY, 13760 or The Animal Care Council, 131 Washington Ave., Endicott, NY, 13760.
