Rose M. Spring left her earthly life with her family at her side on February 17, 2014. Born on September 22, 1915 to Pompilio and Isolina (Farneti) Anastasi, she was predeceased by them as well as her first husband Gene Boezi, second husband Frank Spring, her brother Mario Anastasi, her sister Laura Marri, son Timothy Spring, one grandchild and one great-grandchild. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother. She is survived by her children Rey (Rosemary) Boezi, Kathy (Brian) McCarthy, Ann(Michael) Sullivan, Margaret Spring, Fran (Rick) Barrows, Michael (Angela) Spring, Florence (Joe) Bucci. She is also survived by thirteen grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; cousin Art Farnetti; sister-in-law Florence Wescott as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. During World War II she was "Rosie the Riveter." She didn't rivet but she inspected propellers at Remington-Rand. She then joined Gotham Shoe and retired as a manager in the packing room after thirty-two years. She was a long-time member of St. Paul's Church where she was active with the Funeral Luncheon group and was a Eucharistic Minister. She was a member of the American Legion Post 1645 Auxiliary and was involved in their presentation of Sunday Bingo and numerous wedding dinners. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4 to 7pm at the THOMAS J. SHEA FUNERAL HOME INC. 137 Robinson St. Binghamton, NY. A Funeral Mass will be offered on Friday at 10:30am at St. Paul's Church in Binghamton. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
