Mack, William S.

Endwell: 95, loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather, passed away peacefully March 2, 2013 after a brief illness. He was born December 14, 1917, in Short Mountain, TN. Bill was predeceased by his wife of 63 years, Charlotte Mack; his parents, Ira and Lela (Butters) Mack; a brother John (Lucille) Mack; and a sister Mildred (Lawrence) Paddock. He is survived by two sons: Dale (Mary) Mack of Owego, NY, and David (Cathy) Mack of Honeoye Falls, NY; and four grandchildren: Kelly (Richard Faust) Mack, Christopher (Riddhi) Mack, William (Rose) Mack, and Sarah Mack. He also is survived by a brother, Ray (Josephine) Mack, and several nieces and nephews. Bill served in the United States Army during WWII where his skills as an expert machinist were personally recognized by General George S. Patton. He retired from IBM after a long and productive career. Bill was an avid hunter and outdoorsman and loved to talk about his hunting adventures. He enjoyed playing billiards and spending time with his family. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday March 8 at 12 Noon at the Barber Memorial Home, Inc. 428 Main Street Johnson City. Burial will be in Riverhurst Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday at 10am until the time of the service at the Barber Memorial Home.
