of Endicott
Gladys Elizabeth Birdsall Fiori, 84, of Endicott, died at Wilson Memorial Hospital Thursday, December 11, 2008. She was predeceased by her husband, James V. Fiori, in 1994; parents, Howard and Agnes Birdsall; and a brother, Gary Birdsall. She is survived by a sister, Beatrice Geelan; a sister-in-law, Amelia Clemente; nieces and nephews, Anita Clemente DeSarbo (Robert), Reverend Father Joseph Clemente, Lisa Clemente Bethmann (Mark), Norma Testani Mastroianni (Emilio) and William Testani (Janet); also several cousins and grandnieces and nephews. She was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, Endicott. Gladys was especially proud of her affiliations with eighteen lineage societies, including the following: National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, National Society Sons and Daughters of the Pilgrims, Daughters of Founders and Patriots of America, National Society Colonial Daughters of the Seventeenth Century, National Society Daughters of American Colonists, Society of Daughters of Colonial Wars, National Society of Dames of the Court of Honor, N.Y.S. Society United States Daughters of 1812, National Society of New England Women, N.Y.S. Society of Daughters of Indian Wars. Gladys was an avid participant and supporter of organizations dedicated to the United States Veterans and patriotic causes. Her passion for historical research contributed greatly to genealogical societies and regional and local historical organizations.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday 9:30 a.m. from the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott, followed by a Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church at 10 a.m., with her nephew Reverend Father Joseph Clemente as Principal Celebrant. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the Allen Memorial Home Monday from 4-7 p.m. Expressions of sympathy in her memory may be made to Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 200 Grippen Avenue, Endicott, N.Y. 13760.
