Johnson City: Emilie L. Vavra, 97, passed away on Tuesday, February 25, 2014. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Steve Vavra; and her brother, Frank Mica. She is survived by 3 daughters and 2 sons-in-law, Emilie V. & James H. Miller, of Syracuse, Joyce V. Fowler, of Endwell, and Louise V. & Arthur J. Bilco, of Sarasota, FL.; six grandchildren, Stephen & Catherine Miller, Eric Miller, Gordon & Tracey Miller, Erika Fowler-Decatur & Michael Decatur, Jeffrey & Kelly Bilco, Brent & Tami Bilco; 12 great-grandchildren, Kyle, Chad, Troy, Austin, Paige, Lea and Aidan Miller; Cid and Elle Decatur; Kendyl (Justin) Stanley, Ryan and Cort Bilco. Also survived by two great-great grandchildren, Truss and Sabella Stanley. She was a member of Ascension Lutheran Church and Redeemer Lutheran Church. Emilie & Steve were long time members of the Binghamton Boat Club. Emilie was a loving, caring and strong woman whose motto was 'the woman who thinks she can, can.' She always put her family first. Family funeral services will be private. Emilie's family appreciates the exceptional care given to her by the United Methodist Homes, especially over the past two years at Elizabeth Church Manor.
