McKitrick, Janice Y. (Corson)

Maine: Janice Y. (Corson) McKitrick, 80, was born on May 21, 1933, and went to be with the Lord at her home on Monday, March 10, 2014 after a long battle with cancer. She was pre-deceased by her parents, Jasper and Anna Corson; a brother and sister in law, Kenneth and Hilda Corson; a son, Dennis McKitrick and a grandson, Seth McKitrick. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Theron (Doyle) McKitrick; a son and daughter in law, Darwin and Robin McKitrick, Maine; four grandchildren, Jesse (Maggie) Minarovich, Melanie McKitrick, Stephen and Nikki Sabol; four great grandchildren, Christopher Underwood, who Janice and Doyle raised as a son, Victoria Cluff, Trever and Blake Minarovich. She is also survived by Mary Minarovich, mother of grandson, Jesse; one sister, Sandra White, Maine; several nieces, nephews and other relatives; lifelong friends, Annamae Rude and Betty and Leo Welch; and her loyal, loving companion, Nikki. Janice was a member of First Baptist Church, Maine, and was retired from Maine Memorial School with 30 years of service. She was a member of the Nanticoke Valley Historical Society and the Southern Tier Antique Gas and Steam Engine Association. Janice was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother to us all and she will be greatly missed. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Maine, 16 Church St. Maine, NY. Rev. Ben Winn, pastor of her church will officiate. Burial will follow in Maine Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy in her memory may be made to First Baptist Church of Maine or to the Seth McKitrick Scholarship Fund, paid to Maine-Endwell School Account for Seth McKitrick, c/o Maine-Endwell High School, 750 Farm to Market Rd. Endwell, NY 13760.
