Cunningham, Bine J.

Binghamton: Bine J. Cunningham, Lovingly know as BJ or Beanie passed away on Monday March 17 2014 at the NYS Veteran's Home in Oxford N.Y. He was born in Huntington W. Va. To Bine J. Sr. and Helen (Rausch) Cunningham on February 28, 1930. After graduating from high school he went to work for the Jewel Tea Co. in Huntington. He did a stint in the U.S. Air Force and then returned to Jewel Tea where he worked for 36 yrs, ultimately as Distribution Manager. Beanie landed in Binghamton in the late 1950'S where he met Nancy Pilkington in 1963. Beanie was a fun loving guy with a great sense of humor. His hobbies included gardening, picking berries and making the best jam you ever tasted. He was also a avid hunter and fisherman. He loved to go deer hunting in the Adirondacks with the same group of friends for over 25 yrs. Beanie was predeceased by his parents, his Sister Flora Ann Beahrs and Nephew Steven Beahrs all of Huntington W. Va. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 yrs, Nancy (Pilkington) a Stepson, Thomas (Lee Ann) Stebbins, his stepdaughter Sherrie (Dan) Rinker, Grandchildren , Nicole (Tim) Marble, Katie Stebbins, Michael Stebbins, Julian Willard and Jordan Willard, one great Grandson Freddy. He is also survived by his brother Joseph of Huntington W. Va. And a sister Bernice Moses of Fla., two brothers-in-law, John (Ellen) Pilkington of Greene N.Y. and Jerry (Barbara) Pilkington of St. Augustine Fla. And a Sister in law Jean Pilkington of Jacksonville Fla. Also several Neices and Nephews. Beanie will be greatly missed by his family and friends and especially by the love of his life Nancy. The family would like to thank all the wonderful people at The NYS Veteran's Home in Oxford for the exceptional care given to Beanie, especially those in The Pine Cottage. Your TLC kept him going far longer than we dreamed possible. A Funeral Service will be held Saturday morning 10:00 A.M. at the Savage Funeral Home, 338 Conklin Ave Binghamton N.Y. With the Rev. Carl Moore officiating. The family will receive friends at The Savage Funeral Home on Friday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. Burial will be in The Vestal Hills Memorial Park.
