93, of Hallstead, PA passed away peacefully March 20, 2014. Born and raised in Spencer, NY. She is predeceased by her husband, Douglas C. Tompkins, her parents, Sidney H. and Naomi M. Allen Briggs, and a brother, Arthur Briggs. She is survived by her nine children; five daughters, Wanda Handsom, Joani Axtell, Nelda Emmons, Joyce Tompkins, and Teri Miller; four sons, Warren Tompkins, Bruce Tompkins, Duane Tompkins, and David Tompkins; 27 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; 7 great great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Mom had many friends and loved by all. She will be truly missed. She spent her life caring for her family, children, and grandchildren. Her baking pies and cooking for family gatherings will be forever cherished. We wish to thank the staff of Barnes-Kasson S.N.F., Susquehanna, PA for their professional care and loving support and also Dr. B. Patel. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Alzeheimer's association. A committal service will be held at Brookdale Cemetery with Reverend Philip Hunt, on March 29, 2014 at noon. Arrangements are under the direction of the Tuttle-Yeisley Funeral Home, Inc., Hallstead, PA.
