Squires, Jr., Carl F.

Binghamton: Carl F. Squires, Jr., 84 died March 31, 2014. He was predeceased by his wife Irene (Marble) Squires in 2005. He is survived by his children, Carl. F. Squires, III, of Binghamton, Laurie Fortune-Squires of Lancaster, NY, Diane Nesbitt (Shawn McMahon) of Johnson City, 6 grandchildren; Adam, Alex, Ryan, Casey, Stephen and Shannen, and very dear friend Edith Stalker. Carl served in the U.S. Navy as a Photographers Mate from 1947-53. In 1957, he began working at the Binghamton Police Department, retiring in 1968 as a Detective Sgt. He continued his career as a Postal Clerk with the US Postal Service in Binghamton. He was a member of Johnson City Unity Lodge 970 F&AM, member and past Patron of Otseningo Chapter #14, OES, member and Past Monarch Aahmes Grotto, member of Otseningo Bodies, AASR, Kalurah Shrine and American Legion Post 80. Carl was proud of his Scottish heritage and was a member of the Clan Campbell Society and served on the Executive Council for NY and Regional Commissions for many years. Carl's family is deeply appreciative to the care provided by the NYS Veteran's Home in Oxford during the last week of his life.

Funeral services will be 10 am Friday at the Hopler & Eschbach Funeral Home, 483 Chenango St. Binghamton, Rev. Jose Valencia officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Vestal Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 4-7 pm. OES service 6:00 pm. Masonic service 6:30 pm. In lieu of flowers. memorials may be made to Kalurah Shrine Hospital Transportation Fund, 625 Dickson St. Endicott, or the Shriner's Hospital for Children.
