Liska, Joseph Francis
Joseph Francis Liska, 79, of Glastonbury, CT, beloved husband for 26 years of the late Carol Ann (Bossler) Liska, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 27, 2014 in East Windsor, CT. Born in Binghamton on July 19, 1934, son of the late Joseph and Ethel (Koller) Liska, he was raised in Binghamton and was a graduate of Central High School, Class of 1954. After high school, Joseph enlisted in the U.S. Army and served until his honorable discharge in 1963. He later moved to Connecticut and settled in Glastonbury, CT where he had lived for many years. Joseph worked at Hamilton Standard in Windsor Locks, CT for many years until his retirement in 1993. In his spare time, he enjoyed building model airplanes, gardening, and taking care of his lawn. He was always ready to discuss politics and was interested in the latest news. He leaves three stepsons, Gilbert Digby and his wife Linda of Carrollton, VA, John Digby and his wife Christina of Willington, CT, and Ronald Digby and his fianceé Jeanne Ryder of Agawam, MA; a stepdaughter, Annette DeBella and her husband Russell of Ellington, CT; eight grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. Besides his wife Carol, he was predeceased by two brothers, James and John Liska; a sister, Theresa Donnelley; and a great granddaughter. His family will receive friends on Monday, April 7, 10-11 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m., at the Nicholson & Carmon Funeral Home, 443 East St. North, Suffield, CT. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield, CT. The family has requested that memorial contributions be made to the
