Hermann, Josephine

Binghamton: Josephine (Ciancio) Veronica Hermann, age 82, passed away very peacefully on April 12, 2014 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on Oct. 15, 1931 and a lifelong resident of Binghamton. Josie was predeceased by her parents, Joseph & Anna (DeLucca) Ciancio; sisters, Rosie (Joe) Felice, Angie (Bill) Fiske, Mary Ciancio, Connie Ciancio; brother-in-law, Rudy Rusnak; and nephews, Joey Ciancio & Mark Rusnak; and grand dog, Judgey. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Joseph; three adoring children, Jodie Kandel, Joseph A. Hermann & Cathy DeJong; as well as three grandchildren she loved dearly, Jessica Kandel, Justin Kandel & Elizabeth DeJong; and her special boys, Rich DeJong, Bill Reny & Adam Miller. She's also survived by brothers, Guy (Nancy) Ciancio & Tony (Connie) Ciancio, and had a very special and close relationship with her sister, Anna Rusnak; niece, Jo Ann (Tony) Amedeo; and Godchild, Linda Nash. She also is survived by in-laws, Katherine Hermann & Frank Hermann. Josie (Aunt YaYa) will be missed by many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was a beautiful, selfless woman who forever touched anyone she met, especially her friends and caregivers at Emeritus Woodland Place and Lourdes Hospital. At Josie's request, please no flowers but instead an act of kindness or a donation to . A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, April 15, 2014, at noon at St. Thomas Aquinas Church. The family will welcome friends and family from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery immediately following.
