Catherine E. Stevenson, 92, formerly of Monroe, NY, passed away on April 18, 2014 in Good Samaritan Hospital in Lebanon, PA. She was predeceased by her husband of fifty years, William J. Stevenson, who died in 1991. Born in Manhattan on September 30, 1921, she was the daughter of Robert and Catherine Callahan. She is survived by: daughter and son-in-law Diane and Walter Beckwith of Lebanon, PA; daughter and son-in-law Mary Jo and Robert Rosen of Macungie, PA; daughter and son-in-law Catherine and William McGowan of Binghamton, NY; son and daughter-in-law William and Sondra Stevenson of Winchester, VA; twelve grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. Affectionately known as Mimi, her life centered on her family. She welcomed each new baby with love and joy. Mimi seemed happiest when surrounded by children. She truly will be missed by all of us. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 23rd from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Thomas J Shea Funeral Home in Binghamton, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on April 24th at 10:00 a.m. at Saints John and Andrew Catholic Church in Binghamton, NY with Msgr. Michael Meagher officiating. Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery immediately following the Mass.
