Binghamton: Winifred E. (Winnie) Higgins Age 88, passed away at home on April 24, 2014 after an extended illness. She was predeceased by her parents, Winifred and Bernard MacAlarneyl; her brothers-in-laws, Douglas Markle, Joseph Selneck, Duane Bauer, Robert Selneck; sisters-in-laws, Diane MacAlarney, Jean and Arthur Higgins and a very special dear niece, Jody Williamson. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Harry Higgins of Binghamton; her sister, Bernice Markle of Virginia Beach VA, Judith Bauer of Matamoras, PA; brother, John MacAlarney of Lancaster, PA; sisters-in-laws, Aileen Higgins of Mine Hill, NJ; Gloria Hucks of Port Jervis NY; also many loving nieces and nephews; great-nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews. Winifred was a member of the First Congregational Church in Binghamton. Funeral Services will be held at the Savage Funeral Home, 338 Conklin Ave., Binghamton on Tuesday at 11:00 A.M. with Rev Zuggs officiating. The family will receive friends at the Savage Funeral Home, directly before the service from 10:00AM till the time of service. Entombment will follow at The Vestal Hills Memorial Park.
