Goodrich, Robert E.

Chenango Bridge: 84, died May 1, 2014 at Lourdes Hospital. He was born April 24, 1930, son of the late Hiram P. and Blanche Smith Goodrich. He was also predeceased by his brothers Hiram (Sam) and David; sister Joyce Miller. He is survived by his loving companion Christine Gillette; four children Robert, Carolyn, Gerald and Dawn; his grandchildren; his sisters and brothers who were always there for him Beverly (Scott) Strong, Johnson City, Nancy (Kenneth) Tinklepaugh, Endicott, Janice Brown, Pueble, CO, Edward (Shirley) Goodrich, Chenango Forks, Paul Ronald (Margaret) Goodrich, Johnson City, Gene (Sue Cron) Goodrich, Port Dickinson and Larry (Pamela) Goodrich, Lexington, KY; numerous nieces and nephews. Bob was a member of VFW Post 478, a veteran of the Korean War, and suffered from PTSD since the early 1950's after serving in the U.S. Army in Korea. He was the fourth generation of his family to work as a stone and brick mason. A memorial service will be held on Monday at 11:00AM at the Barber Memorial Home, Inc., 428 Main St, Johnson City with Rev. Kevin Rollo officiating. Burial will be held in Chenango Valley Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday from 10AM until the time of services.
