Endwell: John A. Matolka, 82, of Endwell, passed away peacefully Tuesday morning, May 6, 2013, at his home. He was predeceased by his parents, John and Mary Matolka; two sisters, Julie Gleason and Emily McFall. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Joan (Ciotoli) Matolka, Endwell; three sons and daughters-in-law, Scott and Sharon Matolka, Hudson, OH, John and Anne Matolka, Rochester, NY, Jeff and Michelle Matolka, Apalachin; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Diana and Paul Forehand, Garner, NC, Janet Matolka, Endwell, Beth and Jim Balogh, Walden, NY, Kelly and Jason Prentice, Cortland, NY; 18 grandchildren, E.P. and his wife Julie, Joey and his wife Leigh, Beth, Nick, Matthew, Vince, Sarah, Jill, Josh, Jeremy, Rachel, Justin, John, Tricia, Brandon, Alyssa, Emma and Andrew; three great-grandchildren, Daniel, Ann and Elizabeth; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Bill and Jean Matolka, Bob and Jude Matolka; five sisters and two brothers-in-law, Josie Kintner, Mary Smith, Marge Hoffer, Linda and Jim Babcock, Lorrie Blaha, and Al McFall; also several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. He was a member of St. Joseph's Church, Endicott, a retired IBM Glendale employee and a member of its Quarter Century Club, and a veteran of the US Air Force. John was an avid New York Yankees, New York Giants, and Syracuse University sports fan. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and barbecuing. He loved to give a good joke as well as take one. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Funeral services will be held Saturday 9:00 a.m. from the Leon Pucedo Funeral Home Inc., 1905 Watson Blvd., Endicott, and at 9:30 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church where a Funeral Mass will be offered. Entombment will be follow in Riverhurst Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Pucedo Funeral Home Friday from 4-7 p.m.
