Darlene "Dar" Coffey Obituary
Coffey , Darlene "Dar"

Binghamton: Darlene E. (Wardell) Coffey, 77, passed away peacefully on May 10, 2014 after a short illness. Dar is predeceased by her parents Leo and Grace Wardell; sister Marlene; brothers Bill and Leo; sister-in-law Barb. Dar is survived by her husband of 55 years Jerry; daughters Jackie (Gary) and Kathy (Timmy); grandsons who were the light of her life Steven (Jennifer), Collin, and Dyllan; great granddaughter Makenzie Jane; her sister Kathleen; brother Jim; sister-in-law Alice (Jim), brother-in-law Joe (Margaret); also several nieces and nephews who she loved dearly. She is also survived by the countless friends of her kids and grandkids that considered her to be a second Mom. And we can't forget the numerous lifelong friends Dar made at Sandy Pond. Summers at Sandy Pond were as much a part of Dar's life as being and East sider. Dar had a unique ability to make you laugh and feel good all the time, even on your worst day. She had a wonderful sense of humor and a very quick wit. She will be sadly missed by so many but the memories of her will live on forever as well as the stories and how she made everyone she knew smile a quality we all loved so much about her. "We love you Dar". Thank you to the staff at Wilson Hospital. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 13th from 4 until 7pm at the THOMAS J. SHEA FUNERAL HOME, INC. 137 Robinson St. Binghamton. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10am on Wednesday at St. Paul's Church in Binghamton. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
