Frank M. Rothemeyer

Rothemeyer, Frank M.

Conklin: Frank M. Rothemeyer, 61, died June 21, 2014. He was born May 1, 1953 in Bielefeld, Germany, and legally immigrated, with his family, to Binghamton NY, a place full of opportunity, with his family, in 1955. He is survived by his beloved family; his sons, Michael (Sabrina), Dayn (Kristyn) and Corey, his mother Elfriede, grandsons, Connor, Cameron, Ethan and Patrick, a brother Bernd (Linda), and many cousins and dear friends. He attended SV schools where he played varsity football and baseball, graduating in 1971. Following his marriage to Phyllis Shimer in 1978 and the birth of their son Michael in 1980, Frank moved to Connecticut where his sons Dayn and Corey were born, and raised his family. He cherished his time with his family, especially his three sons, and the recent births of his four grandsons. He moved back to Binghamton in 2009 to personally care for his mother. His love of sports, and golfing and fishing with his sons were a few of his favorite things. Frank's life was filled with service to others. Beginning his career at U-Haul, Howard Johnsons and Lums Restaurant, he co-established Franklin's Family Restaurant and started Replay Sports in Groton, CT. More recently he helped his community by working at Achieve of NY, and serving as Vice President and Bar Director at the Binghamton German Club.
