Van Kuren, Carol (Ainey)

Carol (Ainey) Van Kuren of Forest Lake, PA passed from this world into her eternal home with her Lord and Savior on June 30, 2014. She was born on July 23, 1942 to Ira (Pete) and Frances Ainey of South Montrose, PA. She leaves behind her best friend, loving and devoted husband of 56 years, Donald Van Kuren. Also surviving is her daughter, Deborah (Allen) Van Tassel, Brackney, PA; son, Jeffrey Van Kuren, Friendsville, PA; and son, Andrew (Sheila) Van Kuren, Manchester, NH. Her grandchildren were her special blessings in this world; Robert, Eric (Rachael), Ryan (Tobie Lynn), Samuel, and great-grandson Jackson. She is survived by her sister, Iris Marlene Wood of Montrose, PA. She was predeceased by her siblings, Allison, Kathryn, and Alan. Carol worked for the US postal service for 30 years before retiring in 1992. She enjoyed traveling with her husband all over the United States and various countries, gardening, visits with friends, reading, and will be known for her kind and caring heart, sweet smile, and her chocolate chip cookies and cinnamon rolls. A Memorial Service/Life Celebration will be held on Saturday July 12 at 3PM at Forest Lake Baptist Church, Forest Lake, PA. No flowers please. It would be Carol's wish that a donation be sent to the home of her sponsored child, Beatrice, in Kenya. Please send donations in Carol's memory to Encouragement, Inc. 1803 Snowball Dr., Colorado Springs, CO 80921, or on-line at Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her.
