Mary (Bilek) Eckert, 97, of Endicott passed away unexpectedly, July 3, 2014, surrounded by her loving family. She was predeceased by her husband, Albert (Red) Eckert; her son-in-law, James Lasky; her grandson, Nicholas Drapp; two sisters, Josephine (John) Komarinetz, Agnes (John) Strbo; five brothers, John Bilek, Joseph (Josephine) Bilek, Daniel (Josephine) Bilek, Fred (Ruth) Bilek, William Bilek; her feline companion, "Mittens". She is survived by two daughters, Beverly (Victor) Lorenz, Marilyn Lasky; one son, Edward (Patricia) Eckert; nine grandchildren, Karen (Lew) Walker, Debra (Steve) Dykun, Vicki (Steve) Drapp, Erik Lasky, Christina (Kevin) O'Connor, Camille

(David) Martin, Candace (Matthew) Rand, Crystal (Bill) Makely, Edward (Ella) Eckert; 20 great-grandchildren, nine great-great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Agnes Bilek; also many nieces and nephews. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved traveling all over the world and was an avid sports fan. She was a lifelong member of St. Joseph's Church, Endicott and its Altar Rosary Society. She was a former president of the George H. Nichol's PTA and a retired employee of Burt's Department Store. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, 11 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church, 207 Hayes Ave, Endicott, NY. Burial will follow in Slovak Catholic Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at St. Joseph's Church on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the Mass at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in her memory may be made to St. Joseph's Church.
