Glazier, Jane

Miss Jane Glazier, 83, of Binghamton and formerly of Cortland passed away, Sunday July 13, 2014 at Elizabeth Church Manor in Binghamton after a lengthy illness. Born July 18, 1930 in Cortland, Jane was a daughter of Ivan and May Purvis Glazier and had been a resident of Binghamton most of her adult life. Jane was formerly employed at Country Valley Industries in Binghamton. Jane loved to read and do embroidery. She would often greet friends with a hearty handshake and a pat on the hand and enjoyed her time living with friends at the Achieve residence on Riverside Drive. She is survived by two sisters, Viola (Don) Shutts of Lake Como and Lucy Sexton of Houston, Texas; a brother, Roger (Bonnie) Glazier of Cortland and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Jane was preceded in death by her siblings, Winifred Glazier, Norman Glazier, Isabelle Woodward, Euberta Glazier and Leola Grant. Funeral Services will be conducted on Thursday at 12 Noon in the Chapel of Riccardi Funeral Home 69 N. Main St, Cortland with Rev. Vicki Johnson, officiating. Prayers of committal will follow in Cortland Rural Cemetery. The family will be present to receive friends on Thursday from 11 a.m.-12 noon prior to the start of services. Jane's family would like to thank her family at Achieve in Binghamton and a very special thank you to Marian Summers, Eric Yetter and the staff at Riverside Drive and Elizabeth Church Manor for all they have done to care for Jane for so many years.
