Finch, Margaret Marian Taylor

Margaret Marian Taylor Finch, 91, left her mortal home on Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at Good Shepherd Fairview Home, Binghamton, NY. She was a member of Tuscarora Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, and served as Vice Regent of the Chapter. She belonged to Conklin Presbyterian Church and was a former member of Broad Avenue-North Presbyterian Church and High Street and Hawleyton United Methodist Churches. Margaret was the widow of Scott Prentice Finch, who died December 16, 1998. She was also predeceased by her son, Robert (2003), great grandson Ryan DePuy (2008), son-in-law, Peter K. DePuy in 1984 and daughter-in-law, Julia Paul Finch in 1987. Margaret was born in Binghamton, NY, the daughter of the late Robert N. and Viola E. (Decker) Taylor. She lived her entire life in the Binghamton area, with the exception of two years in Baltimore, MD during World War II. She was a former Avon Representative and Manager, and also worked for a variety of companies and schools in the Binghamton area, retiring from Broome Community College in 1988. She is survived by a daughter, Sharon F. (George W.) DePuy, Binghamton, NY; five grandchildren, Scott R. (Charlene O.) DePuy, WA, Robert K. (Bridget O.) Finch, OH, Nicholas A. (Heather F.) DePuy, NE, Margaret Jan Finch (Jon Chancellor), TX, and Steven (Emily) Finch of ID; a daughter-in-law, Jan Marriott Finch, CO; a step granddaughter, Susan (Leonard) Freitas, CA; step grandson, Alex Hawksley, ND; six great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Her body was donated to medical science at Upstate Medical Center, Syracuse, NY. A memorial service will be held at Broad Avenue-North Presbyterian Church, 38 Broad Ave., Binghamton on Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at 11 AM. The family will receive friends from 10 AM until the beginning of the service. A ritual of remembrance will be conducted by Tuscarora Chapter, NSDAR. Burial will be private at Conklin Cemetery, Conklin, NY at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers please consider donations to Good Shepherd Fairview Home Memorial Fund, Broad Avenue-North Presbyterian Church, Conklin Presbyterian Church or the in Margaret's memory.
