Nett, Edwin T.

Newark Valley: Ed Nett, 88, well known and respected Tioga County Farmer and musician, passed away suddenly at his beloved Woverton Mountain home on August 6, 2014. Ed is survived by his loving wife and partner of 61 years, Erma 'Dottie' Nett, his daughters: Susan Nett and Judy (Bob) Stoddart; and step children: A. Richard (Valerie) Hammond, Edward M. (Mary) Hammond, Nola Hammond (Lloyd) Baird, seven grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Martha and Frank (Netupski) Nett, his brother, Sylvester Netupski, sisters: Helen Morelando, Nellie Osovski, Edna Kobylarz and step-daughter Linda (Hammond) Vina. Ed was born in the very same home he has resided in all his life. Both diligent workers, Ed and Dottie have independently maintained the farm and beautiful surrounding land all these years. In addition to operating the farm, many will remember enjoying the music, singing and square dance calling of Ed and Dottie throughout the area and down into the Summer Resorts of the Catskills. His beautiful bright smile, wonderful sense of humor and well spoken words of wisdom, will be greatly missed. Services will be at the convenience of the family. MacPherson Funeral Home, Newark Valley is assisting with arrangements. Condolences and memories may be written in Ed's guestbook at macphersonfh.com
