Loretta L. (Martin) McGlynn passed away on Sunday, November 1, 2009. She was predeceased by her sons; Raymond Watson and George McGlynn; mother, Viva Pellerin, father, Callie Raymond Martin; sisters, Anna Rosati and Myrtle Button; grandson, Tyler Traver. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Patrick McGlynn; children, Duane (Tammy) Shaffer, Patty (Don) Praefke, Debbie Kelly, Henry (Michelle) Watson, Debbie (Joe) Fedourich, Lorraine McGlynn, Mike McGlynn, Lorrie Watson, Michael (Sharon) Martin, Tammie (Stephen) Cady; grandchildren, TJ Shaffer, Shane Worth, Kelli Threadgil, David, Derek, Daniel, Magen, and Katlyn Kelly, Amanda Bowen-Dewitt, Michael (Mikey) McGlynn, Brandi Taylor, Michael McGlynn, Raymond and Bradley Watson, Kathleen Wood, Patrick Martin, Tiffany Hampton, Justin McGlynn, Corey Prusik, Alex and Nick Traver, Jeremy McGlynn, Deena and Julie Cady; sisters, Audrey (Fred) Spencer, Gloria (Charles) Koflan; brothers; Charles(Georgia) Martin and Douglas (Marcie) Knight; brothers- in-law and sisters-in-law, Robert and Irene McGlynn, Joan and Paul Landry, Kathy McGlynn and Marion Sullivan; 21 Great grandchildren. Loretta was a longtime member of St. Joseph's Church, VFW Post 478 Women's Auxiliary. She will be remembered as being a very giving person always putting herself last and willing to help anyone in need of help at any time. She loved to cook, plant gardens and flowers. She enjoyed many vacations in the Catskill Mountains and along the shores of the New England states. She missed her longtime dog and friend Gigi. The Family wishes to Thank Lourdes Hospice for their help and kindness towards the end. Her husband Patrick wishes to especially thank our kids that gave her 24 hour daily care during the entire ordeal.
A funeral mass will be held on Friday, November 6, 2009 at 10:00 am St. Joseph's Church, Sanitaria Springs. Burial will be held at Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 5, 2009 from 5-8 pm at Wm. R. Chase & Son Funeral Home, 737 Chenango Street, Port Dickinson, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Loretta's memory to the , 13 Beech Street, Johnson City, NY 13790 or if you know someone in need please help them in Loretta's memory.
