Betty Jane Loomis, 86, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on December 27, 2009 in Orange Park, FL, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Binghamton, NY on March 26, 1923, daughter of the late Daniel B. Moyle and Madeline Hall Moyle. Betty was also preceded in death by her loving husband, William E. Loomis, Sr.; and four siblings. Throughout her married life, Betty resided mostly in the Horseheads/Elmira, NY area. Betty was an engineering secretary for Westinghouse Corporation and a Wilton Cake decorating instructor for over 30 years. After moving to Jacksonville, FL to be with her children, she was a Wilton Cake decorating instructor for Michael's. She loved her crafts, cooking and baking, and made cherished things for all. Betty is survived by her three children, Carol Knauff, William E. Loomis, Jr. (Shari), and Sandra L. Vinti, all of Jacksonville, FL. Surviving siblings are Stuart Moyle (Helen) of Binghamton, NY and Shirley Turner (Bun) of California. Surviving grandchildren and great-grandchildren are Trevor Fritz (Andrea) Trey and Tanner, William E. Loomis, III (BJ), Kristy Jo Walls (Mike) Chet and Caydance, and Jennifer Vinti, all of Jacksonville. Surviving also are many other loving relatives throughout New York, California, Idaho, Georgia, and Oregon. "Those who give of themselves freely are the saints of the earth, forever in our hearts."
