Jonathon Searles Obituary

Jonathan David Searles
Jonathan David Searles went to be home with the Lord on July 7, 2010. He was born on August 13, 1987 in Rochester, NY. He graduated from Central Baptist Christian Academy in 2006. Jonathan is survived by his parents, Charles and Rita Searles; one sister, Wendy; three brothers, CG, Nate and Stephen. "J" was loved by all who knew him for his compassion and kindness towards people and animals. He was fondly remembered for his dedication and strong work ethic. His favorite pastime was tinkering with old cars and lawnmowers. He was pursuing a career in truck driving because he loved to travel. His three brothers and cousin Andy were his best friends and they enjoyed many activities including manhunt, bowling, tree climbing, building campfires and four wheeling. "J" will be greatly missed and we await the day we will see him again in heaven.
Viewing hours will be Saturday July 10, 2010 from 11:30 until service time at 1 PM from Central Baptist Church 1606 State Route 12 Binghamton, NY. Arrangements are by the Nichols Funeral Home, Whitney Point, NY.

Not sure what to say?

Dear Rita and family,
We have been out of town and I just read about your son's death. There are so many things to say but I know that they are not adequate to ease your pain. Our son died accidentally 2 years ago so I know what I have experienced. If I can be of any help, please call me at home: 669-4412 or send me an e mail. Perhaps we could talk and share some things. My heart sends you love and strength for your days ahead. Hope to hear from you.

Charles, Rita, CG, Stephen and Nate,

What a Beautiful Memorial!

We met the Searles "Gentlemen" at a restaurant in Whitney Point. We knew Charles from visiting with us occasionally. These fine "Gentlemen" truly loved each other. They joked with one another and told stories in the short time we chatted with them.
Charles just smiled, you could tell he was so proud of his sons.
Remember, you are human. God knows you are trying to rationalize and you have so many questions as to "WHY"? He knows you love "J" and you will miss him. Remember, he is there to help you through this sad time, not only now, but always.
Peace Be With You!

I know there are no words which can dull the pain. I am praying for you all, that God's peace and comfort can be tangibly felt by each of you and that His grace will sustain you though this incredibly difficult time.

Jon's memorial service was powerful. It was incredible to see God honored so boldly throughout the service. You all did a great job and Jon would be proud.

May you feel the presence of God giving you the strength and peace needed to tackle each new day.

We offer our deepest sympathy. When tragedy strikes and takes the life of our loved ones, many cry out with great sorrow. Your tears are not unnoticed by the Creator of Life. Never was it his purpose for our human lives to be taken away. Although your deep pain will not easily disappear, prayer to God will bring comfort to you as you grieve. The Bible assures us God "is healing the broken hearted ones, and is binding up their painful spot." Psalm 147:3

2 Corinthians 1:3-4
'Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, 4who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God.'

We do not have the right words for this time you are going through. I know you will find strength in HIS word and HE will bring you comfort. We are praying for your family.
