Walter E. Jenkins Sr.
of Dallas
formerly of Binghamton
Walter E. Jenkins, Sr., 83, of Dallas and formerly of Binghamton, New York passed away on Sunday, July 25, 2010 in Wilkes-Barre. He was born March 20, 1927 in Parsons the son of the late Walter and Margaret Miller Jenkins. He was a proud veteran of the US Army and Navy participating in World War II and the Korean War. He was a member of the V. F. W. and past Commander of Parsons American Legion, Post 199. Mr. Jenkins was a retired employee of the Binghamton Press. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sisters, Audrey Parks, Lola Schiel, Maude Jenkins, Ann Kosko, Peg Jedrick; brothers, John and David Jenkins. Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Frances Navola Jenkins; children, Pamela Trzeskowski and her husband, Robert of Mountain Top; Anthony J. Jenkins, and his wife Monica, of Binghamton; the Rev. Walter E. Jenkins, C. S. C. of Boston; grandchildren, Jessica, Matthew, Allison, Charles, Joseph and Daniel; sisters, Jean Polifko and Jackie Smith.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. from E. Blake Collins Funeral Home, 159 George Avenue, Wilkes-Barre, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 in St. Nicholas Church, Wilkes-Barre. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township.
