Raymond M. Price Obituary
Ray went to be with his Heavenly Father on Sunday, November 7, 2010 after complications with Leukemia. He is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Rita, and two daughters, Claressa, Woodbridge, VA and fiancé Greg Hallman and Hannah, a student at Marquette University in Milwaukee, his parents Eugene and Ruth, brother Kevin and wife Margi and their children Bryan and Craig, sister Rachael and husband Bob and their Children Ryan and Meghan and sister Susan and her friend Sant and mother-in-law Elfrieda Lee. Ray was employed by NYSEG for 23 years. Before that, he was employed by Central Asphalt for 12 years. Ray graduated from Susquehanna Community High School in 1975. He attended East Stroudsburg University where he was a member of the Warrior football team and graduated in 1979 with a B.A. in Criminal Justice. Ray was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Johnson City YMCA. Ray was a devoted husband and "Daddy". He was the ultimate family man. Ray loved the outdoors, working in the garden, riding his bike and fishing, his true passion. He not only has been an inspiration to his daughters, but to the young men that had him as a pee-wee football coach. His enthusiasm for sports was contagious. His comic relief and love of polka music are famous; he got such joy and fun from making people laugh. His work ethic was second to none. He always believed "if it's worth doing, it's worth doing well" and this inspired his daughters to "always do your best". Many people do not know the extent of his kindness because he was never boastful, but always ready to help financially, spiritually and emotionally to anyone who needed it. Ray, a deeply religious man who loved his Catholic faith, prayed multiple rosaries a day and constantly lit candles for his family and friends. His life has affected so many in various ways. He will be truly missed by his loving family and friends. The funeral service will be held on Friday, November 12, 2010, at 9:30am at the Hennessey's Funeral Home, 747 Jackson Ave., Susquehanna, and 10:00am at the St John's Church, Susquehanna, where a mass of Christian Burial will be offered by Rev. Charles Connor. Burial will be in the Ararat Cemetery, Ararat, PA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 6 to 9pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the - HH, 1120 South Goodman, Rochester, NY, 14620. Note in memory of Ray Price.
