Vestal: died peacefully at home on March 26th after a courageous ten-year struggle with complications related to diabetes. Nancy was born July 24, 1952 in Allentown, PA. She graduated from St. Mary's Girls High School in Greenwich, Conn. She received a degree in economics from Regis College in Weston, MA and began a career in retailing as a buyer at Saks Fifth Avenue, in Manhattan. Nancy moved to Binghamton after marrying and served as the first store manager of Drazens at the Oakdale Mall. Nancy is survived by her mother Sis Hoy Tuholski, her husband of thirty-three years, Michael, her children, Michael Patrick, Betsy and Allie, her daughter-in-law Colleen, brothers John, Joseph, and Robert. She was predeceased by her father Robert Hoy. Nancy was an enthusiastic civic volunteer. Nancy was a founding member of the Vestal High School and Vestal Middle School Building Planning teams. Nancy had a gift for entertaining which she utilized professionally in a catering business with Mary Jo Harris, assisted by Naomi Lozier. She loved to host dinners at her home for the Vestal soccer and lacrosse teams on the eve of games against longtime rival Union Endicott. Her creative flair has been exhibited most recently in her designing of the seasonally changing color scheme on her front door at 505 Rano Boulevard. Nancy's first love was her family and she had an unwavering commitment to her devoted husband. She was an avid supporter of all her children's activities and was proud of their chosen careers. She loved family vacations to her mother's home in York Harbor, Maine. Her hobbies included reading, decorating, teaching cooking, and politics. A longtime member of Our Lady of Sorrows Church, her faith helped keep her energized during her medical struggle. Nancy will be most remembered for her infectious smile, positive attitude, and genuine love of people. She made friends everywhere, most recently at the Vestal Dialysis Center, where she served as a Patient Representative. Her family would like to express their deepest gratitude to all of the medical professionals who made her life more healthy and comfortable; including those who worked with her at the Lourdes Hospital, the staff at Professional Home Care, and the many others who supported her.
