Johnson City: Thomas W. (PopPop) Ceiri, age 57, of Johnson City, NY, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family and friends on April 26, 2013. He was born February 7, 1956. He was predeceased by his parents, Thomas and Beatrice Ceiri. He is survived by his lifelong friend and wife of 31 years, Jacqueline (McVinnie) Ceiri; a sister, Diane (Gregg) Cope of Virginia Beach, VA; two brothers, David (Chris) Ceiri of Virginia Beach, VA and Brian Ceiri of Johnson City; his children, Christopher (Stacy) Armstrong of SC, Brigette (Kevin) Armstrong McLemore of NC, Sheri Ceiri, Heather (Neil) Armstrong Roberts, Jennifer Ceiri, Erica (Robert) Blakeslee, all of Johnson City and Thomas P. (Jessi) Ceiri of Baltimore, MD; grandchildren, Brooklyn, Christian, Cooper, Madi Grace, Anthony, Miranda, Baeli, Carter, Connor, Collette, Taylor, Gianna, Alexis, Cici Rose, Maggie, Haeli and Padraig. He also leaves behind three aunts, many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, friends and daycare children who were very special to PopPop. He was a most loving and devoted husband, brother, father, and PopPop. He also leaves behind the special family he acquired at Broome Oncology, especially Dr. Sheth, Carolyn, Lisa and Cassie and all the nurses who cared for him over the course of his illness who all were so very special to him. During his courageous battle, he never lost his sense of humor and he never gave up. He loved his family, motorcycles, rocking in his rocking chair and his "land". He hated only one thing - "the clock". He was a member of St. James Church, Johnson City. He was a longtime employee of IBM and EIT. Funeral services will be held at the J.F. Rice Funeral Home Inc., 150 Main St., Johnson City, Thursday at 9 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. at St. James Church, where a Funeral Mass will be offered. Burial will be in Vestal Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to , 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 in Thomas W.
