Hall, Frederick G.

Melbourne, FL: Frederick G. Hall, of Melbourne, FL, passed away August 22, 2013, reuniting himself with his beloved wife of 57 years, Audrey (Scales) Hall. "Uncle Fred", as known by many, was born to Claude and Nellie Hall July 22nd 1924 in Johnson City, NY. Fred, a 1943 Johnson City High School graduate, enlisted into the United States Navy where he served as tail gunner, bombardier and navigator in the North Pacific during WWII. He was employed as a business manager with IBM for 30+ years. As a retired IBM'er, Fred could be found sitting at a computer screen, for hours on end, educating himself with the latest in computer technology. He was also a master mason and member of the Johnson City Lodge #970 as well as a lifetime member of the Johnson City American Legion, Post 758. In his earlier years, Fred enjoyed golf and was a member of the Boca West Country Club, Boca Raton FL. Later in life, however, he could be found simply fishing the waters of the triple cities or casting lines off the coast of Florida. He will be remembered fondly by the simple things that mattered most to him: good friends, good conversation and of course, good food. Fred also enjoyed meeting new people during his evening visits to the beach, his cigar in hand and always with his devoted dog, Frosty, by his side. Uncle Fred is predeceased by his best friend and wife, Audrey; brother, Warren Hall; and 2 nephews, Brian Hall and Jeffrey Hall. Surviving are sister-in-law, Julie Hall; nephew, James Hall; great nieces, Cynthia Haaf-Murphy (Tim), Kristen Jentons and Sarah Hall; great nephews Russell Hall (Vicky), Andrew Hall and Kevin Hall. Survivors are also to include countless longtime friends turned family to Fred, the closest being James and Patty Cammer of Deposit, NY, Daniel A. Cook Jr. of Palm Bay, FL, and the loving congregation of Sherman Bible Chapel, Deposit, NY. A private memorial service is planned. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Fred Hall to Sherman Bible Chapel, 331 Lumber Road, Deposit, NY 13754.
