VanVorce, Robert J.
Endicott, New York: Robert "Bob" J. VanVorce, 92, of Endicott, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family. Bob was predeceased by his parents, Harry and May Padgett VanVorce; brother, Marcus; and sisters, Harriet "Alice" Jeffery, Mary Slater, Hazel Monroe and Helen Chrysler. Bob is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Emmajane Jackson VanVorce; children, Brian (Karen) VanVorce of Apalachin, Lynn (George) Crump of PA, Douglas (Theresa) VanVorce of Endicott, and Peggy (Harold) McCane of GA; brothers and sisters, Guy (Heidi) VanVorce of PA, Loretta (Richard) Nelson of Apalachin, Charles (Nancy) VanVorce of CA, Catherine Hess of Endicott, Anne Mauche of Penn Yan, and Lillian Hover of Candor; several grandchildren and great grandchildren, along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Bob attended the Community Baptist Church, along with previously serving as a Deacon and Trustee for the Glendale Baptist Church. He was a proud Veteran who served in the Army during WWII and was a lifetime member of the VFW Post#1371 in Owego and the Disabled Veterans of Binghamton, Chapter #60. Funeral services will be held at Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home, 15 Park Street, Owego on Monday, September 9, 2013 at 10:00 am. Burial will follow in the Vestal Hills Memorial Park. Family invites friends to call on Sunday, September 8, 2013 from 1 to 3 pm at the funeral home.
