Tennant, William Joseph
William Joseph Tennant of New Milford, PA went to be with the Lord Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at the age of 86. Bill was born in West Pittston, PA the son of the late Martha (Players) and Ira Tennant. He is predeceased by his sisters, Mae, Elizabeth, Winifred, Martha and brother, Ira. Bill was a loving and devoted husband of 56 years to Leona Ruth (Hall) Tennant. He now joins her in Heaven to continue watching over his loving family. He will always be in the hearts of his sister, Hazel; daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Samuel Carrico; son and daughter-in-law, William and Roxanne (Duffek) Tennant; his five grandsons, Richard Stonier and wife Lisa, Joseph Tripp and wife Becky, William Carrico and wife Rachel, Justin Tennant and Jarred Tennant; and his great granddaughters , Breeana, Hailey, PiperJo, Nevaeh and Rylee Rose. As a dad, grandfather and great grandfather ("Pop") will be remembered for being a patient, loving, gentle man and the best role model. His family will miss him very much. In 2002, Bill received an Honorary Diploma at Blue Ridge High School to honor WWII vets who risked their lives for our country. At the age of 17, Bill joined the US Navy serving on the Destroyer USS Gridley (DD380) and USS Perkins (DD877). He received the Victory Medal, American Campaign Medal, Occupation Service Medal (Asia) and European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal. Upon his request, there will be no funeral services.
