Patz, Robert (Bucky)

Endwell: Robert (Bucky) Patz, 84, of Endwell, passed away Saturday, November 16, 2013. He was predeceased by his wife of 50 years, Anna (Shelepak) Patz. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, David and Lisa Patz of Ithaca, NY; his daughter and son-in-law, Tamara and Mark Bambara of Endwell; his grandchildren, Lara and Alex Patz of Ithaca, NY; his faithful companion "granddog", Bocci Bambara; his brother, Harry Patz of Yonkers, NY; his sister-in-law, Joan Shelepak of Endicott; also many nieces and nephews. Bucky was born and raised in Yonkers, NY and graduated from The Saunders Tech School where he received his training in Plumbing. He was a veteran of the Korean War, a plumber for Local #112, an employee of IBM Owego before retiring, and an avid NY Giants fan. He was an active member of St. Mary's Orthodox Church, Endicott, and the ACRC club. It was here in his spiritual family that he made many of his closest friends and embraced his Russian heritage and faith in God. Bucky was also fortunate in having the friendship of a close knit group of neighbors with whom he played golf, cards, and shared many laughs. Bucky and his family would like to thank the staff of James G. Johnston Nursing Home for the compassionate care that he received during his stay. Funeral services will be held Wednesday 9:30 a.m. from the Leon Pucedo Funeral Home, Inc., 1905 Watson Blvd., Endicott and at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Orthodox Church. Burial will follow in the Parish Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Pucedo Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4 to 6:30 p.m. The Very Rev. Michael Kleban will hold Parastas Tuesday evening 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in his memory may be made to St. Mary's Orthodox Church, 1907 Jenkins St., Endicott, NY 13760.
