Harry William "Bill" Erickson, 80, of Silverado Senior Living Valley Ranch in Irving, TX, formerly of Binghamton, NY, passed away on November 16, 2013 after a valiant battle with Alzheimer's. Bill was born in W. Rutland VT on April 13, 1933. He graduated from W. Rutland HS and continued on to receive a Bachelor and Masters Degree from Boston University. Bill also served in the US Navy for 4 years and was in the Navy Reserves for 14 years. He worked as an aeronautical engineer at Singer Link for 25 years. He enjoyed being a volunteer fireman and served as a Chief for the Chenango Bridge Fire Company. He also had a love of classical music. He especially loved the Boston Pops. Bill is predeceased by his wife of 39 years Barbara Cioffi Erickson. He is survived by his children, his daughter and son in law, Linda and Lenny Genna, his daughter Susan Erickson, and his son Mark Erickson. He has three grandchildren, Anton and Kyra Salinkas, and Dominic Genna. Calling hours will be held on Friday, November 29, 2013 from 4-7PM at Wm. R. Chase & Son Funeral Home at 737 Chenango Street, Port Dickinson, NY, 13901. A Funeral Service will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, November 30, 2013 at Wm. R. Chase & Son. Burial will follow the funeral at Holy Spirit Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the 225 N. Michigan Ave. Suite 1700, Chicago IL 60601-7633 or they may be made online at www.alz.org. The family would like to express special thanks to the staff at Silverado Senior Living for providing our dad with such great care and for supporting us during his last and challenging years.
