Kennedy, Charles J.

Endwell: Charles J. Kennedy, 86, of Endwell, took the hand of the Lord Sunday December 29, 2013. He was predeceased by his parents, John and Anna (Lentes) Kennedy; his brothers, Joseph, John, Aloysius, Francis, Paul, Lawrence, Thomas and Jerome Kennedy; his sister, Anna Stevens; his great-grandson, Derick Eckert. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Anna M.(Antalek) Kennedy; five children, Charles M. (Lynette) Kennedy, Endwell, James F. Kennedy, Dacona, Colorado, Suzanne (Christopher) Verity, Maine, NY, David (Nadine) Kennedy, Johnson City, Patricia (David) DeMarle, Burnt Hills, NY; ten grandchildren, Patrick (Ashley Valenti) Kennedy, Matthew Kennedy, Jo Anne Eckert, Connor, Maeve and Ryan Verity, David Kennedy, Margaret, Dorothea and Josephine DeMarle; four great-grandchildren, Joshua and Rachel Kennedy, Catelyn and Deneese Eckert; one brother, Robert (Rosemarie) Kennedy; one sister, Mary Maddox; also many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was a member of St. Joseph's Church, Endicott, a retired 30 year employee of IBM Endicott and a member of its Quarter Century Club, a veteran of the US Marine Corps, serving during WWII. He was the owner/operator of one of the first TV repair shops in our area as well as a pioneer in computer science. He was a kind and gentle man that was always there for his wife, children, and grandchildren. A funeral mass will be celebrated Friday, January 3, 2014, at 9:30 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church, 207 Hayes Ave., Endicott. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. The family will receive friends at the Leon Pucedo Funeral Home, Inc., 1905 Watson Blvd., Endicott on Thursday, January 2, 2014, from 6 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in his memory may be made to either St. Joseph's Church or , P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148.
