Ross, Richard "Dick"

Vestal: Richard "Dick" Ross, 82, passed away peacefully on January 26, 2014. He was predeceased by his parents, Douglas and Jessie Ross; his sister and brother-in-law, Arlene and Jack Williams; and his beloved in-laws, Delores and Glen Kinney, and Stephen Holowack. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Patricia; his daughter, Debra and Mark DeNucci; his granddaughter, Tara DeNucci; his sister-in-law, Mary Holowack; his brothers-in-law, Ronald and Connie Curry, and Gary and Linda Curry; his special friends, Robert and Jean Orlovsky; as well as many other loving relatives and friends. Dick served his country in the US Army during the Korean Conflict and after his military service became an optician for Walnut Optical in Binghamton until his retirement. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who loved the outdoors. His happiest moments in life were spent at his cottage on Bradley Brook Reservoir. He also enjoyed traveling and making stained glass. The family would like to extend their special thanks to the two aides that allowed him to remain at home for as long as he did, and the excellent and loving care he received in his final months at Susquehanna Nursing Home. Also, special thanks to Gary and Linda Curry for their extra love and support during his recent illness. Dick will always be remembered as a kind, loving man with a story to tell. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Dick's memory may be made to the Camp Road Maintenance Fund at Bradley Brook.
