Thomas Fron Obituary

Fron, Thomas M.

On June 7, 2015, Thomas M. Fron, 60, went to rest in the Lord. He was a beloved brother, uncle and godfather who will always be remembered as one who cheerfully helped family and friends alike. For many years Tom was an usher at Blessed Sacrament Church. Tom was a strong Christian man who was able to face illness with dignity and courage because of his trust in God. He was predeceased by his parents, Michael J. and Elizabeth L. Fron. He is survived by his sister, Anne Panko; brother, Joseph Fron; nephew Gregory Panko; niece Alicia Legg and her husband Eric Legg, their children, Matthew and Ashley Legg and aunt, Isabel Flesher. Tom graduated from Catholic Central High School and SUNY Cortland. A Funeral Mass will be offered at 11am, Friday at St. Vincent de Paul, Blessed Sacrament Church, Vestal. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will welcome friends and family at the church from 10am until the time of service. Thank you from the family to all the caregivers at Broome Oncology at Lourdes, Lourdes Hospice and Susquehanna Nursing Home who comforted Tom in his journey. A special thanks to Dr. Sheth and Dr. Kloss who were Tom's competent and compassionate advocates. In lieu of flowers, donations in Thomas' memory can be made to Lourdes Hospice, 169 Riverside Drive, Suite 103, Binghamton NY 13905. Anne and Joe,
When my husband and I with our 1 year old son moved to the Triple Cities in 1958 our first home was an apartment at 22 Adams Ave. I remember your mother's many kindnesses to us and also "Tommy's" visits across the street. He loved your mom's ginger molasses cookies, and I still have the recipe in her handwriting in my recipe box. She also watched our son when I left for the hospital for son number two, and refused any compensation. She suggested paying it forward before it ever became a slogan. When I learned of Tom's passing I wanted to let you know of my memories and my sadness, and I wanted you to hear this story. Your family's legacy lives farther than you know.

I was deeply saddened to hear of Tom's passing. We worked together at DSS for many years where he was a diligent and conscientious member of the CAP/TOP Unit. You knew that when you asked Tom to do something pertaining to a case, it would be done and done well.
I know that he loved his family very much, and hopefully the many good memories they shared will give them solace. Tom, you will be missed by all who knew you.

Our heartfelt sympathies go out to you. We spent four years at CCHS with Tom. He was a great guy, loved by all. So kind and caring. We've run into him over the years. He never mentioned his health and always was interested our lives. The pain is gone and peace is finally here for Tom.

Anne & Joe-Tom was the best neighbor ever & a great friend. Always ready with a smile; an offer to help; inquiring about our family out of town; curbside chats or a wave if he was driving by; always a gentleman & a model of how to deal with illness-no complaints-always a positive outlook. We miss you very much & hope to learn from your faith.

June 10, 2015

My deepest condolences over Tom's passing. I worked with Tom at DSS in the CAP/TOP Unit and saw the earnestness with which he performed his job on a daily basis. He was willing to take the time to explain/answer any questions and always followed through. If life was being unkind he had a quiet way of letting you know he was aware of your struggles and was wishing you a positive outcome.
I wish all of you peace and may your memories bring you comfort.
Tom, I wish you peace and joy!
