Eva Drumm Obituary

Eva JOAN (Thorn) Drumm
of Westover
Eva JOAN (Thorn) Drumm, 72, died peacefully after a long, courageous battle with cancer at the James G. Johnston Nursing Home on Saturday, October 15, 2005. She was born on December 19, 1932 in Ararat, Pa., daughter of Florence (Avery) Thorn and William J. Thorn. She was predeceased by her brothers, Harry and George Thorn; and is survived by her husband, Lawrence Drumm, Johnson City; daughter and son-in-law, Denise and Keith Yalch, Lisle; sons and daughter-in-law, Warren, Schenectady, Roger and Kathy, Johnson City; her grandchildren, Timothy and Philip Drumm, Brittany, Corey, Anthony, and Emily Yalch; great-grandson, Joshua Drumm; sisters, Roslyn Lee, Pa., Joyce Thorn, Pa., Emily Harjers, Fla.; brothers, Howard and Emery Thorn, Pa.; sisters-in-law, Madeline and Florence Thorn, Pa.; also many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Joan was a friend to families and caregiver to many Westover children. She was a very special lady. She was a member of the All Saints' Episcopal Church, Johnson City, and a member of and leader of the Episcopal Church Women. She was a CHOW Pantry volunteer, and a special friend to the Southern Tier Dart League.
Funeral and committal services will be held Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at the Barber Memorial Home, Inc., 428 Main Street, Johnson City, with the Rev. Christine J. Day, rector of her church, officiating. Burial will be in Ararat Cemetery, Ararat, Pa. The family will receive friends at the Barber Memorial Home, Inc., on Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the All Saints Episcopal Church, 475 Main Street, Johnson City, N.Y. 13790. The family would like to extend many thanks to Dr. Kloss and staff at Broome Oncology and hospice staff, especially Brother James and Sister Joanna for their care and support.
