Paul MILLAR Obituary

On November 24th, 2012, while hiking with his wife, Paul passed suddenly into the waiting arms of his Savior, Jesus Christ. Paul was born in London, England on February 13, 1952. He had been a resident of the Sonoma Valley for 35 years. It was in Sonoma County that Paul met the love of his life, his wife Dianne. Paul leaves behind his wife Dianne, children Jeff Katsch, Lisa and Kirk Nippe, mother Eileen Millar, siblings Colin Millar (Debi), Bob Millar (BJ) and Jocelyn Hester (Greg), nieces Sarah Hester, Becca Hester and Kali Millar. Paul reunited with his father, Joe Millar, in heaven. In life, Paul treasured his wife, family, and friends. He ran Paul Millar and Associates, a construction consulting firm, and was well loved and respected by his many business associates. Above all, Paul's first love was his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Paul was committed to his church family at Calvary Chapel Petaluma and shared his faith in word and deed. A memorial service will be held Saturday December 8th at 2:00 p.m. at Calvary Chapel Petaluma, located at 1955 South McDowell Blvd, Petaluma. All who knew and loved Paul are welcomed to attend. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Paul's name to Redwood Gospel Mission www.srmission.org, or Gospel for Asia (800) 946-2742 reference #FB2B-MPM0.

"I WOULD RATHER LIVE MY LIFE AS IF THERE IS A GOD AND DIE AND FIND OUT THERE ISN'T, THAN LIVE MY LIFE AS IF THERE ISN'T, AND DIE AND FIND OUT THERE IS." Paul told me that years ago after a Bible study at his home.... That quote has helped me get thru many difficult experiences.

To Paul's family - I am so sorry! I just heard about this. Though I did not know Paul personally, he was an expert in one of my ongoing cases (as an expert - I work for Fireman's Fund Insurance Co.)and I was very sorry to hear he passed on. Also, he was part of the community that my mother lives in (Petaluma), and I am sorry the community (as well as his family) has lost him as well. Godspeed, Paul, and thank you.

Paul was my go-to guy on numerous construction defect cases, whether by retention or just a general construction case. I considered him a friend. I'll miss you. Prayers and condolences to the family.

I've had the pleasure of knowing Paul for over 25 years through our church, Calvary Chapel. Paul was a true gentleman; thoughtful, with a caring heart and a ready smile. He was always ready to share whatever he could with others, whether it was his home, his finances, his time or his advice in practical or spiritual matters. Paul's love for God and God's Word was evident in how he lived his life. Always willing and able to teach a Bible study or share a message on a Sunday for an absent pastor, he also practiced what he preached.
In Galatians 5:13 Christians are reminded to “serve one another in love”. Paul truly was a “servant of God” during his “appointed” days on earth. When he suddenly changed his place of residence on Nov. 24, from earth to heaven, he would surely have been welcomed by the words spoken by Jesus in Matt. 25:23, “Well done good and faithful servant.”
Until we meet again Paul, your presence will be greatly missed!!

Dear Dianne, I only met you once while meeting with Paul on a Construction Defect matter but I won't forget your beautiful smile, the wonderful house and Paul, who I worked with (and against) over several years. I remember him as one of those special people who always put things in a positive light, even when it was difficult. He cared a great deal about everyone else and was always honest and clear. I will miss him.

The members of the Construction Defect Industry in Northern California knew and respected Paul Millar. He was well liked and had many close friends. I am proud to be counted as one of those friends. Paul and I shared many great moments in the last 15 years or so of working on cases together. I will always remember the energy in his voice when he spoke of his trip to Jerusalem. He will be missed but not forgotten. My thoughts are with his family in this difficult time.

I knew Paul through our work together on Construction Defect matters. My favorite conversation with him was on his trip to Jerusalem - his eyes lit up talking about walking the roads Jesus had traveled. I am so deeply saddened by your loss and am greatful to have known him. May God bless your family at this time with peace. 2 Thessalonians 1:2

My dear Dianne and family: What a blessing to have known Paul for these last 14 years, traveling beside him on our spiritual journey on our way to be with our Lord, Jesus Christ. So many wonderful days, happy and sad, we have all spent together, never to be forgotten. It makes me smile to know that Paul and Amy are waiting for us beside the Lord, both grinning and ready to welcome us to our Heavenly Home. I can see their beautiful smiles, hear their laughter and feel the glow of their love for the Lord.

Lord, watch over us all, ease our sorrow and give us peace until we dwell with You evermore. Psalm 23

My love to Paul's dear family and friends.

I was very surprised and saddened by Paul's passing. In the late 1960's and 1970's we went to high school together, worked together and attended church together. We even shared the same birthday. I always loved his honesty, humor, dedication and appreciated his friendship. I will miss you Paul.
