Charles E. "Chuck" MEFFORD

Entered into God's care February 5, 2013 at home in Sebastopol at the age of 83. Chuck was born, raised and educated in Orleans, Indiana and has been a Sonoma County resident since 1976. He served our country in the U.S. Marine Corp. during the Korean War. He retired from UPS after 27 years. Chuck enjoyed golfing, woodworking, gardening, barbeques, trips to Portola to enjoy the Sierra's camping and fishing and most of all he loved spending time with his family. He was an avid fan of the 49'ers, Giants and any Indiana basketball team. Chuck was preceded in death by his loving wife of 56 years, Mary in 2007. He is survived by his daughter, Jan (Mel) Bowers; son, Jeff (Dana) Mefford; Sister-In-Law, Elizabeth (Joe) Kusick; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. A Visitation will be held Sunday, Feb. 10 from 10:00 - 12:00 p.m. at Pleasant Hills Memorial Park, 1700 Pleasant Hill Rd., Sebastopol with a Funeral Mass being held on Monday, Feb. 11 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Sebastian's Church, 7983 Covert Lane, Sebastopol with burial to follow at Pleasant Hills. Arrangements under the direction of PLEASANT HILLS MEMORIAL PARK & MORTUARY. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Chuck's name to Hospice of Petaluma or The Sonoma Humane Society.
