Charlotte A. OLSON

Age 90, of Rohnert Park and long time member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Petaluma, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 15, 2012. Charlotte was born March 10, 1922 in Seattle, Washington to Herbert and Charlotte Peake. She attended the University of Washington where she met her future husband at a dance they both attended. On December 24, 1941, after only a three month courtship, Charlotte married Calmer Olson, a Veteran, who served in the Navy in World War II. Charlotte enjoyed journalism, poetry, cooking, long walks with Calmer and family gatherings. Most of all, she loved her family and cherished the time she spent with them. She was an energetic, enthusiastic, vibrant and giving woman who will be sorely missed by many. Charlotte was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Calmer Olson, her sons, Roger Olson, Verner Olson (wife, Carol) and Timothy Olson (wife, Helen), her daughters Margaret Turner and Martha Jane Gamba (husband, Grant) and 15 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. Friends and family are invited to attend a celebration of her life on Saturday, October 20 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church in Petaluma.
