Charlotte Marie GRANDERSON

62, of Cotati California, passed away on Thursday, September 5, 2013. She was born in Memphis, Tennessee, and was happily married to Gregory Granderson, for close to thirty years. The family moved to Cotati California in 1992. She graduated with her Master's degree in Counseling from the University of La Verne, CA. She was employed by Lassen College, and then by Santa Rosa Junior College in Santa Rosa, CA. She was passionate about making a difference in the lives of her students. She worked in CalWORKs a program funded to provide services to assist welfare recipient students and those in transition off of welfare to achieve long-term self-suf-ficiency through co-ordinated student services offered at community colleges. In March of 2006 she received the Elizabeth Carlson Memorial Award for "Outstanding Con-tributions by an SRJC Female Employee." Charlotte, breast cancer survivor believed in living life to the fullest. She loved to travel, and her adventures lead her to many parts of the United States, Hawaii, Europe, Canada, Mexico and several other locations with her husband, family and friends. Charlotte is survived by her husband; Gregory Granderson, She is also survived by her mother; Peggy Washington, and her sister Althea Beyah. She has four children; Lee Sims, Gregory W. Granderson, (Cotati, CA), Steven Sims (Reno NV), Tennille Spencer (Atlanta, GA) and five grand-children. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., September 28, 2013 at Santa Rosa Junior College, at the Emeritus Hall.
