Donald Leo KONECNY

"Loved to Wheel and Deal!" Don Leo Konecny, 74, died on Dec. 30, 2013, after a long illness of Dementia. Don was born on June 26, 1939, in Council Bluffs Iowa. He moved to California in 1960 after serving in the United States Marine Corp. Don met his wife Alba while working as manager for Ann Darling Bowling Alley in San Jose. Don and Alba were married for 48 years and raised their family in San Jose and Sebastopol. Don was a jack of all trades and had several different successful careers over his lifetime. He was a Bowling Alley Manager, Construction Business Owner, Backhoe Operator, Owned 4 Sonoma County Laundry Mats and then, sold it all to follow his true passion of wheeling and dealing and opened a second hand and antique store which he later sold when he retired. He also served on the Sonoma County Grange Credit Union for five years. He is survived by his wife Alba, two children, Tammie (Sebastopol) and Joe (Rimrock AZ), five sisters, three brothers, four grandchildren, 36 niece and nephew's and 48 great nieces and nephews. All who know him as "Santa" or "Uncle Don Ho Ho". A Celebration of his Life will take place on March 29, 2014 at 12 p.m. at the Sebastopol Grange Hall.
